Wit & Wisdom Presents...
From the Mountains to the Sea!!!

Connect with nature’s beauty and bounty during a free guided online tour of The Tennessee Aquarium. Right from your home, learn the secrets of agile river otters, able to stay underwater in cold mountain streams for eight minutes without a breath. Sigh with relief after hearing that sand tiger sharks, despite rows of jagged teeth, pose little danger to humans. Meet Macaroni and Gentoo penguins that thrive in the frigid waters of the Southern hemisphere. We’ll be in the public spaces as well as behind-the scenes at the aquarium.

Our host, the aquarium’s Senior Educator Julia Gregory

The unique aquarium showcases schools of fish, as well as other animals that live in and around the Tennessee River as it flows from the mountains to the ocean. Two-thirds of U.S. freshwater fish species are present in Southeastern waters. Learn about colorful darter fish and mountain trout. See magical ocean creatures including moon jellies, Southern sting rays and five-armed sea stars. What’s more, we’ll explore the river’s edge – turtles, snakes, butterflies, and frogs, included.
