Roswell Presbyterian Church members and friends sponsor Christian Education Scholarships for children in three Guatemalan schools
Kindergarten - 9th Grade
Located outside the town of Chichicastenango, the rural Chulumal School serves children from kindergarten through 9th grade. Roswell Presbyterian Church mission teams and donors have helped this school build a second floor and addressed critical safety needs by providing rails on the second floor and rooftop. Some of these children are the first in their families to attend school. Thanks to your support, many of them graduate, continue their education and find careers.
Preschool - 9th Grade
Located in the town of Chichicastenango (“Chichi”), The Colegio Evangelico Methodista Utalan School serves over 200 students. Gifts from the scholarship fund were combined in 2018 with local funding to provide a much-needed courtyard roof, creating a space for a chapel and school gatherings.
Preschool - 12th Grade
Founded in 1965, this Colegio Evangelico Methodista Utalan School is located in the historical town of Santa Cruz del Quiché in the highlands of Guatemala. In 2020, the school served 1,800 local and boarding students from Pre-K to 12th grade. Assistance from the scholarship fund, combined with local funding, has helped to provide improvements to the school such as an elevated pedestrian bridge. To date, Roswell Presbyterian Church has assisted with playground apparatus, laptop computers, and classroom equipment. Your important gifts are appreciated!
